This week we had a wholesome discussion on Marketing and Advertising with Mr. Sanjay Chakraborty. Sanjay is the Founder and Chief Marketing Communication Advisor at ESSKSEE Consultancy. He has more than 25 years of extensive experience in Sales, Marketing, Communication, and Advertising. He is the author of the book Half Glass Full. Recently, he was the Winner of the National Creative Excellence Awards 2020 [Bronze] organized by Population First( Supported by UNFPA).

Advertising is all about how smartly one can use the money to market the products.
Consumer psychology changes every 200m, so one needs to constantly interact with them to understand their needs and then formulate strategies.
Customer feedback makes one rethink and analyze the product/deliverables constantly, pushing the team to plan something different every time.
Knowledge, good communication skills, ability to provide value, and gratitude – these are things one should possess before entering the corporate world.
Never go to the senior management with only problems but with problems and solutions and then discuss with them which is the efficient one.
When comparing advertising with the ’90s, consumer behavior has changed a lot in terms of media consumption, distribution in communication channels, and its frequency. Also, no medium is a substitute for another medium, it’s just a compliment to it.
When working with subscription-based product, always focus on those features which can provide more value to the customers.
